Why do You Never Run Out of Grace?

In moments like these when I am aware
of the ugliness within,
I take of my shoes and dare not face You.

The promises left unfulfilled,
the wrongs to be corrected,
and what could be but is not yet;
Proofs of my worth as a steward.

In moments of facing such truths:
of realisation of my empty-handedness,
why do You never run out of grace?

Who Paid the Penalty

The God responsible for Law
is the same God who paid the Penalty;
He who knew no sin Himself
died a convict- that we are.

The hands that formed the heavens
were the hands that gave us bread;
He breathed life into Adam
but lost His on a tree.

He knows the rotten human Sin,
yet never fails to forgive;
So long as we confess to Him-
our Saviour and our King.

It isn't easy, life isn't easy albeit it was meant to be.
How nice if life was easy!
Decisions are tough to make, no best solution.
How nice if decision making was simple!

Let go. Of sources of dilemma.
Bid goodbye to unnecessary pain.

By your side I will be,
if you would let me.
If you let me, I will be-
by your side.

Regression

A little boy I wish to be,
'cos a happy one, I used to be.

Fellowship in a joyride
graciously provided for me.
During the hours of happiness,
my heart was ageless.

Words from texts and letters-
were to me, O so precious!
Actions of love and kindness-
every bit, fondly appreciated.

The blessed boy I once was;
is and forever will be
what I wish I'd always be.

In Your Kingdom

In Your kingdom, there is truth
In Your kingdom, justice rules
We see Your glory fall in place
Songs of freedom fill the air

As You rule, the unrighteous fall
As You rule, the wicked can not live
The oppressed will shout Your name
And the widows turn to You

As You reign, the lost will be found
As You reign, the blind eyes see
The dead shall sing Your praise
And the lame can run to You

God in heaven, look to us
Hear Your praises rise from earth
We, Your people worship You
Face to face, we are waiting for that Day!

Did you say you won't let go?

Tell me why
did you say you won't let go?
Did you say you won't let go?
Tell me why.

I was a kite in the sky
clinging to your caring hands.
You wanted me to soar on high;
tell me why did you let go.

Holding on to you-
everything that meant to me.
Alas, there were thorns
the strings attached.
Justified, you may let me go?

If I ever hear from you,
tell me why.

Walk with Me

Leading you,
walking with you;
Trust that, I am good.

Take my hand,
bring yourself
into a brighter world.

I do-
not fear the storms
that come
against you.

Been there;
I am here to lead you.

Find rest your soul,
come take my hand,
Walk with me.

Last Words of David

I want to see the light of morning
sunrise bursting forth in a clear and cloudless sky
light that brings refreshing rain
shower blessings and life

But thorns may be around
one must be armed to chop them down

Light can call forth fire
consume the torns forever

The Spirit of the Lord
spoke through David son of Jesse
A ruler of righteousness
rules in the fear of God

Please let me see sunrise bursting forth
and rain falling down
in the land I hate
but grown to love
my Malaysia

Loss - Joel Yap

You who knew my every sin
you, in whom I trusted in
understanding inside out

So dear, the apple of my eye
and perhaps you still are

Alas! You grew frightened by my affection
and now fear me worse than men

I lost what I found most precious
and found myself lost

Pen Pal

Desperate am I to become your pal
have I become unworthy to be your pen pal?
we were once closer than best pals

There was once a time when things were well
your every word to me meant well
in turn I too treated you well

I'm still waiting for that letter without stamps
Where is your pen? Oh, where is your pen?!
Why won't you act in charity?
When will you pick up your pen?

1 November

Time flies, yes it does.
When you want it to slow down it doesn't, what more when you want it to stop?
When you want it to quicken there's not enzyme for such a thing.

Yet time is fair, yes time is fair indeed.

It's been a while. Seems to be a long while, but short... All depends on perspective.
So fast, November already...

I remember writing this some time ago. Here's the original post: Expiry Date
Can it sound like a rock song? Hahaha....
Hope this really becomes a rock song one day!

Every object has a fixed amount of time
before it rots, after which there it goes
Every human too has a limited time
to live, to breathe, and to coexist
This is the blatant truth, a harsh reality:
Everybody needs to die, nothing is eternal
I know that the truth hurts, I don't like it either
But nothing lasts forever, everything expires

You don't know when's your deadline
The day you fade away
You don't know how much longer
Can you live to play and play
So stop dreaming like a child
Wake up and live your numbered days

Refrigerators, dry conditions
Salt and vinegar, reducing agents
Various methods to delay Expiration
But nothing lasts forever, everything expires

Time is running out, time is running out
Time is running out, everything expires
